New Jersey School Sued Over Bullying That Prompted Teen's Suicide
A lawsuit filed in New Jersey alleges a Union County teenager took his own life due to severe bullying. According to the lawsuit filed by the teen's family, he was bullied by fellow students for nearly a decade and that administrators and teachers did nothing. The lawsuit, filed June 16 in Superior Court of Union County, alleges the student was called racial slurs, stalked, and physically attacked repeatedly by students in the district. School district staff “were fully aware but deliberately indifferent to (the bullying), resulting in substantial harm to him and ultimately causing [the student] to take his own life,” alleges the complaint.
