Appeals Court Rules in Favor of Snowmobilers Injured in Crash With DNR Officers

Two snowmobilers injured in an accident with the Department of Natural Resources in Antrim County, Michigan, have won a key decision in a lawsuit. The plaintiffs say they were injured when their snowmobile crashed, throwing one plaintiff in a river and pinning the other under the snowmobile. According to the complaint, DNR officers were traveling in the wrong direction on the same road as the plaintiffs at the time of the crash. An appeals court ruled that the DNR officers were not immune to liability due to their negligent operation of a motor vehicle.
